If you are web developer and you want to upload your website using git version control then you need to understand about git version control. I have already made lots of tutarial about git version control. In this tutorial I will explain, how we can create GitHub repository on cpanel.
Step To Create Repository On Cpanel.
- Login C-panel Dashboard.
- Find Git Version Control.
- Create Repository On Cpanel.
1. Login C-panel Dashboard.
You need to login your cpanel dashboard to create repository on cpanel. You can easily login C-panel login using username and password.
2. Find Git Version Control.
You need to find Git Version Control button on cpanel files section. Now click on git version control button and next click on Create button. If you can't find Git Version Control button then contact your hosting provider.
3. Create Repository On Cpanel.
Now let's start to create repository. Remember: If you want to clone private repository (GitHub, GitLap) on cpanel then you need to create and connect SSH key on (GitHub, GitLap). Clone a Repository: You will see clone a repository switch option on create repository page. by default clone repository option has open on create repository page. you can off clone repository option by click on switch button. I will recommend you to open clone repository if you want to clone GitHub repository from cpanel. you can't see Clone URL option if you has been off clone a repository option.
Clone URL: You will see clone URL option when you on clone a repository option. Enter the clone URL for the remote repository. All clone URLs must begin with the http://, https://, ssh://, or git:// protocols or begin with a username and domain. you can paste here GitHub private or public repository url.
Repository Path: Enter the desired path for the repository’s directory. If you enter a path that does not exist, the system will create the directory when it creates or clones the repository. you will see repository path box like below.
You need to fill repository path like below if you want to clone your github repository on public_html folder. Make sure public_html folder has empty.
Repository Name: This name does not impact functionality, and instead functions only as a display name. You can fill repository name like “project”, “repository-name”.
Create Button: Finally you need to click on create button after fill create repository form on cpanel.
